I hear ya - i really can't bear thinking about the times i disturbed people, knocking early on a Saturday or really anytime - but anyway, what i heard about your subject is that the No Trespassing signs were taken more seriously than No Soliciting - How many times did i hear this discussion, that we were not soliciting, blah blah blah. How many mind games did i have to play to get up the nerve to ignore signs and the reason people posted them.

How do the Dubbies Handle No Soliciting Signs Now?
by laverite ini get too many callers in my neighborhood, and i need to invest in a no soliciting sign for the front door.
i do not appreciate uninvited callers, unless they are there to tell me there's an immediate need to evacuate.
i absolutely won't buy anything at the door.

That article, The Truth Changes, by Doug Mason, is a dissection of the July 15 study WT.

Article written by Doug Mason, includes this:
The GB’s ability to change beliefs and practices raises
issues:
? Since their "new light" is now Truth, how could
anyone know when the GB is finally telling the real
Truth? How can truth become a falsehood?
? Is truth determined by who is speaking rather than
by what they are saying? Does a loyalty to
changed Truth indicate that obedience to the WTS
is more important than Truth? Is the only
immoveable dictum "unquestioning obedience" to
the GB? Is what matters WHOM the GB claims to
be regardless of WHAT it teaches?
? How can the GB complain about errors in the
beliefs of other organisations when they are
prepared to admit that they have been (and
probably still are) teaching matters that were not
true and needed to be changed?
? How can the organisation complain about any of its
followers when they voice questions or doubts? If a
JW taught these new teachings before they were
introduced, the JW would have been summarily
dismissed. Yet someone was clearly able to
question previously held Truth, otherwise these
new ideas could not have come to pass. How was
this achieved without any judicial actions being
taken against them? What was true in the past can
no longer be allowed to enter a JW’s mind – until
the next change is imposed.
? What impact will there be on followers when they
find that suddenly and instantaneously they have to
reverse positions they had been told to hold dear?
How many lives and families have been wrecked
because a member voiced doubt about positions
that the GB has now discarded? -

Casual sexism in Watchtower literature

ive now been out of high school longer than i was in school.. the beginning of the end started a little less than a decade ago.
i was late 20s at the time.

WOW you-all don't have any idea how much i appreciate being able to learn about what you've been through. HI, Free2BMe13! I know you are a doll of a person, trying to help people by enduring Pioneering and Pioneer School! Wanting to know what the right thing to do is, and then making a total life effort to do it!
And, Neverscreamagain, you are so right about the effect of a clipboard on a person - it's an astonishing transformation.

Tech 49: My Tripping Point, Part 2
by Tech49 inafter reading some of your other posts and experiences, especially regarding the elder's school, i am reminded of part 2 of my experience down the rabbit hole.. the last elder's school i attended was in 2011. i remember vividly the 3 day event.
i remember vividly being bored out of my mind!.
as has been stated by others, the hours of monotone counsel and examples and experiences were continually beating on your brain with the usual stuff:.

The WTBTS is a CULT, it's a CULT, nothing but a CULT, what a life-wasting, life-shrinking, ridiculous idiotic huge mistaken mind-controlled bunch of horsepucky in which i lost 30 years of my life!!!
I can SO GET what you're experiencing! and appreciate you writing it out. I have been out for about three years and have been busy reading everything i can find about folks waking up and getting out. It helps a lot to find answers to the question WHY did I do it, why did i fall for that hogwash, why was i so gullible - i'm no different from many who were young and ready to listen to people who were living in their religion instead of their own life. I thought living my own life was selfish. I was ready to let other people do the thinking for me! There were millions of red flags that I ignored and made excuses for. I just beeleeved the whole official story and my brain was taken over, and turned to oatmeal mush.
Being humble and living each day as an exhausted, resentful robot. But not humble enough to put up with being mistreated, misunderstood and having my reputation shredded - completely unjustly. I do appreciate that mistreatment now though, in a way, because without it I would still be in there, trying to be the best hypocrite I could be.
I'm looking forward to the patriotic holiday. I'm grateful to live in the U.S., and grateful to HAVE a country again!

Hello young friend, Great advice and counsel here! Please try to read and consider all that's been said!
All I can add to the discussion is that if I was in your situation, knowing what I know now, I would focus on doing everything possible to complete my formal education while still able to live at home. You have to be able to compete in the job market and the only way to make a decent living is to get your education.
Don't worry your head about all the stuff you have to do in order to cope. By making sure that you will have the means to support yourself when the time comes, everything else will fall into place. Your working life is the crucial priority. You are doing the right thing for yourself, and in the long run, for your family. I sure wish you much success!

HI, Sittingstraight1212,
This is my first comment! After reading your post I wanted to say, OH MAN i know exactly how you're feeling! and also i'm really glad to have this website and others, as well as the great friends who have done videos on youtube. It has all helped me immensely!
When your kids start asking you questions Why this, Why that, try asking THEM questions right back. The one who asks the questions is the one in control! We all have this automatic reflex when someone asks us questions, like we're in kindergarten and the teacher wants to know what we did with our crayons.
Questions like, What's your opinion as to why I haven't been attending? Did you have any thoughts as to what might have caused this change in me? Can you think of any reason why a person's feelings would change towards the organization? and so on. Always use the follow-up question: "And how do you FEEL about that?"
Listen very carefully as they answer. Then say, Well, you know your old mom pretty well! You've said some insightful things here today! And sometime when I feel the time is right, I will explain myself to you but it's not going to happen today. But I really appreciate getting to VISIT with you and I love you so much...
